Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour

  • 1/3 Cup Butter

  • 1 tbsp Sugar

  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

  • 3-5 tbsp Cool Water

  • Pinch of Salt

  • 8" Pie Plate

Filling

  • 4 Apples

  • 1/2 Cup Sugar

  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

  • 1/2 Lemon, Juiced

  • 30 ml Milk

  • Extra corse sugar for topping

How to Prepare

  1. Add butter, flour, and baking powder together in a bowl and mix with a fork until pea size

  2. Dissolve sugar and salt in cold water - add the ingredients all at once - and mix just enough to combine

  3. Knead the dough until it is smooth

  4. Roll dough out and line the pie plate. Roll out a second piece of dough the same size; set aside for top crust

  5. Peel, core and slice apples. Mix with cornstarch, cinnamon, sugar and lemon juice.

  6. Place the apples into the lined pie plate and cover with a second pie dough and secure the edges. Trim off the excess dough around the edges if necessary

  7. Brush the pie top with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cut a small opening in the middle to allow steam to escape.

  8. Bake at 400F for 50 minutes or until golden brown
