Ingredients
Dough
-
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
-
1/3 Cup Butter
-
1 tbsp Sugar
-
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
-
3-5 tbsp Cool Water
-
Pinch of Salt
-
8" Pie Plate
Filling
-
4 Apples
-
1/2 Cup Sugar
-
1 tsp Cinnamon
-
1/2 Lemon, Juiced
-
30 ml Milk
-
Extra corse sugar for topping
How to Prepare
-
Add butter, flour, and baking powder together in a bowl and mix with a fork until pea size
-
Dissolve sugar and salt in cold water - add the ingredients all at once - and mix just enough to combine
-
Knead the dough until it is smooth
-
Roll dough out and line the pie plate. Roll out a second piece of dough the same size; set aside for top crust
-
Peel, core and slice apples. Mix with cornstarch, cinnamon, sugar and lemon juice.
-
Place the apples into the lined pie plate and cover with a second pie dough and secure the edges. Trim off the excess dough around the edges if necessary
-
Brush the pie top with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cut a small opening in the middle to allow steam to escape.
-
Bake at 400F for 50 minutes or until golden brown
